The Queen City Cra-Zs are going to Chimney Rock State Park for a Traveling Tuesday event on March 24th. Chimney Rock is a 315’ monolith that offers panoramic views of Hickory Nut Gorge and Lake Lure. The summit is accessible via an elevator and stairs.
We will depart Charlotte at 8 am and convoy to Chimney Rock State Park. We will plan to arrive at the park about 10 am. Reservations and a day pass are required for admission to the park.
We will spend 1 to 2 hours at the park so we can take in the views from the summit and see Hickory Nut Falls.
A Lake Lure restaurant will be picked for a group lunch after we leave the park. After lunch we will convoy back to Charlotte.
One week before the March 24th event (based on the weather looking favorable) information will be sent via email on how to make your reservation and purchase your day pass. The information will include the required link to make the purchase and the time to use for our arrival. Each person will be responsible for making their reservation and purchase the pass.
If the weather does not look good for the 24th and new date will be selected.
