Thanks to Rowdy Route Master Cody Reeves for volunteering to lead us up to Fayetteville, Arkansas Thursday Morning, Nov. 6th to start our weekend of fun and fellowship at the 19th Annual David Lisk Runnin' Through The LeaveZ Drive. We will meet at the QT gas station at 1750 Wilmeth Rd. in McKinney, Texas no later than 7:40 a.m. as we need to gas up, empty bladders and be "Wheels Up" by 8 a.m. Please be on time as we have a 5-5 1/2 hour drive in front of us to get to our host hotel, the Holiday Inn Express, 1251 North Shiloh Dr., 72704 in Fayetteville so we can register for our rooms and be set up in the hotel's conference center to start registration no later than 3:30.
To make our best time and still not be on Interstate all the way, Cody says we will let Mr. Waze guide us out out McKinney up to 75/69 where we will get off at Springtown and then over to 271 up to Fort Smith where we will catch I-49 on into Fayetteville. Two-Way Radio frequency will be 20/24 as always.
At registration, we will pass out name tags with drawing tickets behind them for our final Saturday night's prize drawing, the new Rowdy embossed Koozies for all you beverage lovers, drivers instruction sheets and a listing of recommended restaurants for Thursday night as everyone will be on their own for dinner since attendees will be arriving at different times during the day.
Rowdy Route Master, Josh Butts will hold both our Friday and Saturday Morning Drivers' Meetings in the Hotel parking lot at 8:30 each day with "Wheels Up" at 9 a.m. Friday Lunch on our drive will be at 12 p.m. at T’s BBQ, 108 Lakeshore Drive, Harrison ARK. 72601 T's has been voted Best Ark. BBQ seven years in a row! Friday night's group dinner will be at 6 p.m. at Southern Food Company, 3575 Wedington Dr., #3 . 0.9 miles from the hotel. We will be seated in the common area with 2 large tables.
On Saturday, it's back on the road by 9 a.m. with lunch at The Horseshoe Grill, 3085 East Van Buren (out on Hwy 62) Eureka Springs, ARK 72632. Saturday evening's group dinner will be at 6 p.m. at Big Whiskey’s American Restaurant & Bar, 1320 North College Avenue 3.2 miles from the hotel. We will be in their big private room which holds 46. This is always a fun evening as we have drawings and prize giveaways and everyone enjoys telling how many White Pickup trucks, R.V.s, Moving Vans and Gypsy Caravans blocked their way on no passing zones doing 20 M.P.H. Seriously, it's a good time saying goodbye to new and old friends alike until the 20th Annual David Lisk Runnin' Through The LeaveZ Drive rolls around next year!
