We will start in Happy Valley with optional breakfast at 0800 at the local Denney's (Denny's, 12101 SE 82nd Ave, Happy Valley, OR 97086) - or show up in the parking lot at 0845 for a 0900 departure.  We will then wend our way towards Mount Hood on backroads and in Sandy we will take backroads, connecting up on Marmot Rd (a nice little twisty road known as "Devil's Backbone") and come back out on Barlow Trail back onto Hwy 26 at ZigZag and then head towards Welches for lunch.  Necause of multiple waypoints and limitations of Google Maps, I have provided two links.  One takes us from Happy Valley to your rest area and the second link takes us from the rest area to the remainder of the drive.  The two links are:
